Profile and sign-in

Your display name can be changed in the app’s account settings. Signing out ends local access to your account; it does not delete your account or cancel an App Store subscription.

Data on this device

Use the app’s book-storage controls to manage downloaded reading content. Clearing a download is different from deleting cloud progress or deleting your account. Confirm that any unsynced reading position has been saved before removing local data.

Delete your TaleYou account

1. Sign in to the TaleYou account you want to delete.
2. Open Me → Account details → Delete account.
3. Read the deletion and subscription notice, then complete the final confirmation.
4. Keep the app’s confirmation or recovery status until the request is resolved. If a network error leaves the outcome unknown, use the app’s recovery action for the original request.

Once accepted, the account is disabled, its sessions are revoked, and its display name and account-linked library, reading progress and interactive records are cleared from the live database. Remaining identity and credential cleanup runs in the background. The app distinguishes an accepted deletion from completed cleanup; this does not mean that every backup or provider-held copy has been removed.

Deleting an account has no undo period. After cleanup finishes, signing in again can create a new account; it does not restore deleted progress or automatically transfer old purchases.

Cancel a subscription separately

Account deletion does not cancel App Store billing. Manage your subscription in Apple’s subscription settings. For a refund request, see Apple’s refund instructions.

Remaining records and requests

Account-deletion records, guest-transfer ownership, purchase records and certain security or recovery records remain under separate retention rules. These help prevent old requests, transferred reading history or purchases from being applied to a new account. Some original signed store notifications also remain encrypted. See the Privacy policy for retention and deletion details; specific retention and backup-deletion periods remain under review.

Clearing data from the live service does not by itself prove that every backup or service provider has physically removed every copy. Live-account deletion and removal from backups or service providers are separate processes.

To initiate account deletion, use the in-app steps above.

Interactive input

You can use ordinary reading without submitting an interactive request. Review what information is sent to the interactive AI service before using the feature, and avoid entering sensitive personal information. The Privacy policy describes the current AI provider and the types of content sent for processing.

Choosing not to start another interactive request does not cancel one already being processed or delete earlier inputs. For requests concerning information already processed, contact the privacy email above. Depending on applicable law, you may also ask for a copy of your information, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, or contact the relevant privacy regulator. Requests may require verification of your relationship to the records.
